Ex-Kop youngster is best Huddersfield Town signing
Huddersfield Town story posted by Garfield (Admin) on 14/07/2003
In the latest Terrier-Bytes poll ex-Liverpool and Bury man, Jon Newby, topped the votes as the best Jackson-Yorath signing so far. Rob Edwards came a close second while new 'keeper Ian Gray was never really in the running.
Newby, 24, a product of Liverpool's famous youth academy, seems to have gone down a hit with the majority of Town fans. It's no surprise though really - I mean, if Jackson didn't sign the Warrington-born lad we would now be looking forward to a striking combination of Andy Booth and Jon Stead! That partnership would really send tremors around the Third Division!
Rob Edwards, one of the fans' favourite players over the past decade, came second in the poll just three percent behind Newby. The amount of votes he received is obviously to do with his past performances at the McAlpine. If he does nearly as good as he did in his previous spell with Huddersfield Town, then the fans will no doubt be happy.
New 'keeper Ian Gray picked up twelve percent of the votes. He'll no doubt prove to be handy if injuries arise.
