Prediction League 2002/2003 Season
Huddersfield Town story posted by Garfield (Admin) on 10/08/2002
The Prediction League is now well under way and is pretty exciting too! Last year the league ended up being a two horse race with Dwayne Pod and Old Timer battling for the top spot, although Chris Klavon was never too far behind. This year, however, I expect it to be a lot closer with five or six attempting to claim the top spot.
In this season's league I've decided to alter the rules just slightly. Now each player is worth a certain amount of points depending on their position and regularity in the first team. I figured that by adding this it could add a little more excitement when the league is tight at the top.
Also new this season is the system that I have based the league upon. Last year I used to get all the predictions e-mailed to me and then I'd calculate the points and league manually, just like most of the other prediction leagues out there. This year, though, I decided to make things easier for myself by making the league completely database driven. The advantages of this approach is that now, since I've created my program to calculate the points and league, it can all be done in a matter of seconds, which means the league will be up to date straight after the game so no more waiting about.
Anyway, enough of my waffling. Good luck to everybody who's entered this year's league and, just to let you know, the prize this year will be a brand-spanking new Huddersfield Town shirt (home or away) for the 2003/2004 season. If you haven't registered yet, then register at the link below.
