Bishop, 26, has recently rejected a new contract offered by the Gigg Lane side and could be seeking a move to pastures new. Fellow League One side Crewe Alexandra have also been linked with the former York City striker.

Lee Clark has admitted he is looking for a new striker with only Phil Jevons and Keigan Parker as available forwards as Andy Booth is out injured with a back problem.

Bishop started his career at Walsall but didn't make a single appearence for the Midlands club from 2002-2004. He was loaned out to Kidderminster (twice), Rochdale and Yeovil Town before signing for York City on a free transfer in 2004.

In the 2005/06 season Andy was the Conference National top scorer with 23 goals in which Bury snapped him up on a free in May 2006.

Bishop has been Bury's top scorer for the past two seasons (26 last season and 20 in 2006/07) and has scored 10 goals on League Two so far this season in 20 appearences with 2 as a sub.
