Jenkins is now into his eighth season with Huddersfield. A solid defender, who can operate as either a left or right back and also at the heart of the defence. He has 14 international caps for his country and also represented Wales at Under-21 level.
Suffered from various injury problems during his time at the club but has managed to overcome them to become a regular fixture in the first-team ranks. Came back from a hamstring problem at the start of last term to make 29 appearances.
He started his pro career in his homeland with Swansea City until he made the £270,000 move to the Terriers in 1995.
Steve joined Birmingham City on loan in December 2000, which led to the speculation that the popular Welsh lad would be leaving the McAlpine to further his career. But it didn't work out for him in the Midlands, and he returned to us like a new player.
Steve is proberly one of the better crosses of the ball in the team, and he can be usually found flying down the wing to whip a ball into the opponent's area.

Steve has to be one of the most consistent players at Town, he's a good lad, and you know what you'll get from him, week in, week out. He's a steady player, he doesn't take many chances, and what he does do, he does it well. I suppose 14 caps for his country says a lot about him too, and he never embarrasses himself on the international stage either. One of my best memories regarding Steve had to be when I watched Italy versus Wales, with about 30 minutes to go Wales decided to make a substitution. Steve was the player coming on, and as he stepped to the sideline to come on, Italy decided to also make a sub. Up stepped Alesandro Del Piero!! Just looking at the picture of the two of them side by side just made me burst out laughing, no offence to Steve, but that was priceless.
