Match Preview - Huddersfield Town v Bristol City |
Hopes are high for a Huddersfield Town win as an out of form Bristol City visit the John Smith's Stadium on Saturday. David Wagner registered his first win since becoming Town's head coach with a 2-0 win over Birmingham City last weekend thanks to goals from Joe Lolley and Nahki Wells. Wagner's 'gengenpressing' style of football paid off after just 31 seconds as Lolley found the net to opening the scoring against Birmingham. Keeping a clean sheet was also a boost and it was their first since October. The visitors Bristol City are two places below Town in the Championship table in 21st place and are kept out of the relegation places by goal difference. Steve Cotterill's side have only won once in their last eight games, losing the last two on the bounce, and scored just once in their last four matches Team News It was a blow to Town this week after losing influential midfielder Dean Whitehead to a knee injury that will keep him out of action for eight weeks. Bournemouth defender Elliot Ward returned to Huddersfield this week on a month's loan but won't be in contention due to his fitness. Joel Lynch is back in training after a hamstring injury but is unlikely to be included in the match day squad. Bristol City will be without defender Nathan Baker after he was sent off in the defeat to Blackburn Rovers last week. Midfielder Marlon Pack is back in contention though after suspension. |
