Adam Hammill has left Huddersfield Town today after his contract was terminated by mutual consent.Huddersfield part company with Adam Hammill

The 27-year-old originally joined Town on loan from Wolves in August 2012 and made 16 appearances, scoring twice, before he returned to his parent club in January 2013.

Hammill then returned to the John Smith's Stadium on a permanent deal in June 2013, putting pen-to-paper on a three-year deal, and was virtually ever-present during the 2013/14 season, finishing the campaign having made the most assists for the club.

He began last season with an injury and fell out of favour under Chris Powell and saw out the season on loan at Rotherham United, where he made 14 appearances.

The winger, who made two substitute appearances for Town this campaign, was out of contract at the end of the season but the club came to an agreement with the player to leave the club with immediate effect.

Preston North End have been linked with the former Liverpool and Barnsley man.

We wish Hammill all the best for the future.
