HUDDERSFIELD TOWN FC VISITORS GUIDE

The Galpharm Stadium is one of the finest football stadiums in the UK, but what use is it to away supporters if they can't even find their way there?! Well, we've provided some useful information to make sure you always get to the stadium without any hassle!

Arriving by train

Lots of trains either pass through or terminate at Huddersfield train station, so you shouldn't have too many problems getting to Huddersfield's town centre. You can plan your train journey here. Once you get to Huddersfield and walk out of the train station, you'll find taxis waiting outside and a couple of bus stops to your right. The bus station is only a couple of minutes away as well.

Getting to the stadium

On match day regular bus services go to the stadium, so just get to the bus station and you'll be fine. If you're going by car, the stadium is well signposted, so getting lost won't be a problem. Traffic can get quite hectic on match days.

Pubs in Huddersfield

The Rope Walk - This is by far the closest pub to the ground, situated in the UCI cinema complex next to the Galpharm. There's usually a friendly atompshere in here. Mainly home fans drink here, but there's rarely trouble if away fans pop in for a drink as well. This place is perfect for a few drinks before the game or for a meal to calm your nerves.

Slubbers Arms - Situated just off Bradford Road, this place is great for a nice, peaceful drink before the game. This is a real ale pub, so the beer is of a very high quality.

Head of Steam - This pub is situated actually in the train station itself, so it nearly always has a few in before the game. It has a friendly atmosphere and away fans are always welcome.

The Crescent - Before I go any further, this pub is not recommended for away fans! If there's ever any trouble before or after a game, it usually takes place in here! The pub is situated on Northumberland Street in the town centre. This is very much a Town-only pub.

The Peacock - Situated on Leeds Road, within 5 to 10 minutes of the ground, this pub is ideal to go to for a quick drink before the game. They have a large screen TV with Sky Sports available.

Staying in Huddersfield

The George Hotel - This hotel is situated just outside the train station and is the birthplace of Rugby League. You can book online here.

Premier Travel Inn - Exit the M62 at junction 24 for Ainley Top. Take the 3rd exit off the roundabout and then the 1st left into Grimscar Road. At the end of the road turn right and the hotel car park is on the left. Click here for more details.
