Huddersfield Town 1 v 1 Brentford

Huddersfield Town missed out on the full three points and stayed in sixth position in the 2nd division in tonight's game against table toppers Brentford. Bee's striker Ben Burgess denied the terriers of the full three points in the 90th minute of the game with a close range header past the outstretched Martyn Margetson, Leon Knight got the goal for Town.Huddersfield Town 1 v 1 Brentford

The first half was pretty dull to say the least. Our first attempt on goal was from Danny Schofield in the 12th minute, which didn't really trouble Brentford keeper Olafur Gottskalksson at all. Until the second-half neither of the two teams looked like scoring with only a few chances for either side on goal.

The second half started out with Town looking a little livelier than the first half. Leon Knight struck the ball into the back of the net but only for it to be ruled out by the referee. Minutes later Knight had scored for real this time. It was a scrappy goal in the end. Irons tried his luck from distance when a gap opened before him on the edge of the box, his shot was blocked and Gottskalksson produced a fingertip save to keep out the rebound from Booth when it fell to his feet, and when it ran loose for the second time, Knight was on hand to make sure at the third time of asking.

Town were now piling pressure on the Brentford defence and nearly scored again through a Andy Booth shot in the six-yard box. A few minutes later Macari was sent from the Town dugout by referee Graham Salisbury for getting irate with a decision made on Kevin Gray.

For the next twenty minutes the terriers looked a class act against a nervy looking Brentford side and could have scored on numerous occasions through Schofield, Knight, and Booth.

The impressive display started to fuel out in the dying moments of the game. Brentford suddenly came to life in the last few minutes and had gave Margetson a scare when Jenkins had to clear off the line. Moments later Brentford had scored in a goal mouth scramble from a corner kick. Ben Burgess tapped the ball past Margetson making it 1-1 on the night.

At the end of the day the scoreline reflected the Town fan's thoughts before the game although I feel a lot may be unhappy of the way it all turned out in the end. The terriers are now sixth in the league and have drawn their last three league games.
