Jackson still favourite for manager's position

Huddersfield Town's prospective owners may appoint a manager by as early as Thursday if all goes well at Wednesday's creditors and shareholders Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) meeting, it was today confirmed. New players and backroom staff may also be appointed by the Fisher-Davy consortium within the next week.Jackson still favourite for manager's position

"Should the CVA be approved on Wednesday, we will be in a position to announce a manager on Thursday," said consortium member Mr Byrne. "We cannot reveal who it will be yet, but we have had several well-known people interested in the position."

Bookies have stopped taking bets on Peter Jackson to be manager, so he is the strong favourite for the manager's role. Former York City boss Terry Dolan has been strongly linked with the job over the last few weeks, as has Terry Yorath. An outsider for the job, however, is ex-Cheltenham Town boss Steve Cotterill.
