Terriers sign Latics midfield maestro?

According to Sky Sports News, Manchester Evening News and now the Official Website, Huddersfield Town have completed the signing of Oldham Athletic's Alnwick-born midfielder Tony Carss on a two-year deal. The 27-year-old becomes Jackson's fourth free transfer signing since taking over at the McAlpine.Terriers sign Latics midfield maestro?

Carss, an experienced player with over 200 first-team appearances to his name, started out his career at Bradford City before having spells at Blackburn, Darlington, Cardiff, Chesterfield, Carlisle and Oldham. What's interesting is that Tony has not stayed at a club no more than three years and has been released on a free transfer at each he's been at. That doesn't sound too promising.

However, on a more positive note, Iain Dowie, the Latics' manager, didn't seem too happy announcing Carss' departure from Oldham on Sky Sports News yesterday. Apparently he's highly regarded by a a number of Latics fans.

Town fans will probably remember Tony for his superb goal he scored against us last season. If he manages to produce goals like that for us then there'll be no complaining whatsoever. Hopefully he'll turn out to be a good signing by Peter Jackson.
