Sky Blues' Fowler is a wanted man
Huddersfield Town story posted by Garfield (Admin) on 27/07/2003
Coventry City's Lee Fowler, a loan man at Cardiff City last season, has topped the votes in the latest Terrier-Bytes Poll which asked who you, the fans, thought would be the best signing out of last week's Huddersfield Town trialists. Fowler, 20, notched up more votes than Tyrone Thompson, Martyn Booty, Ian Hughes and Steve Yates.
The hard-tackling defensive midfielder has impressed in the Terriers' pre-season friendlies and would surely be a great loan signing by Peter Jackson if he can manage to pull it off. The Town gaffer is looking to sign the Welsh Starlet on a season long loan although a shorter loan period would delight "Jacko", and the fans, as well. However, Terrier-Bytes Columnist, Rachel Jillott, would probably not be too bothered if a loan deal for Fowler is not met, judging by her pre-season reports.
Town's latest signing, Tyrone Thompson, grabbed the second highest amount of votes. The tricky midfielder, a favourite of Rachel's, has recently been offered a three-month contract for impressing in the pre-season friendlies. Most Town fans have been pleased with what they've seen of Thompson so far - he received chants of "sign him up" when he was substituted in Wednesday's 2-0 victory over Sunderland, which just shows his immediate popularity.
Apart from Lee Fowler and Tyrone Thompson, Ian Hughes and Martyn Booty both tallied up 3.33% of the votes while Steve Yates didn't receive any votes whatsoever.
