Amidst all the confusion surrounding the club for the past few months regarding numerous financial issues, one important aspect of the club seems to have been neglected in the press. And that aspect is the transfer activity. Usually a hotbed for rumours and gossip, the transfer activity at the club has taken a back-seat to other issues such as the Football League share which was transferred yesterday. Now, with Town?s future all sorted it?s time to look at the spicy details of what new, exciting players we can hope to see donning the Holy Blue and White shirts next season. With many new players entering the fray and a few who have left it?s quite easy for Town fans to become confused? but be confused no more! Peter Jackson ? A second stint as Town manager. Hugely popular at the Mac.
Terry Yorath ? Partnered with Jacko for the second time. The pair seem to have an extraordinary managerial/coaching partnership.
Lee Martin ? Former Town goalkeeper. Hired as both goalkeeping coach and physio.
Andrew Watson ? Former Town player and Burnley Chief Executive. Now Town CE.
Jon Newby ? A 24-year-old striker from Bury. Signed to a 2 year contract.
Rob Edwards ? Former Town defender, now 33-years-old. Signed for 1 year and expected to be captain.
Ian Gray ? Tall 28-year-old goalkeeper. Signed for two years on a free from Rotherham United.
Tony Carss ? Experienced midfield maestro from Oldham. Signed for two years. Turned down an offer from Colchester.
Tyrone Thompson ? Versatile midfield signed on a 3 month loan from Sheffield United.
Ian Hughes ? Signed on a one-year deal from Blackpool.
Martin Booty ? Centre-half from Chesterfield. Signed on a one-year contract.
Efetobore Sodje ? Capped Nigerian International. Signed on a two year deal from Crewe Alexandra.
Steve Yates ? Veteran 33-year-old centre back from Sheffield United. Snapped up for 2 years.

Accepted Contracts

Phil Senior ? After breaking into the first team last season the young goalkeeper signed for another 12 months.
Nat Brown ? Talented defender re-signed on 12-month terms.
Chris Holland ?After much deliberation decided to accept Town?s 1-year-deal.
Paul Scott - Tenacious midfielder signed for 1 further year.

Martin Smith ? Rejected a 2-year-deal in favour of a move to Football League?s big spenders Northampton.
Gianfranco Labarthe ? After failing to break into the Town squad, was released and has recently signed up with Derby County (renamed Gianfranco Tome).

Ashley Westwood ? Left Sheffield Wednesday and most probably out of Town?s wage budget.
Lee Fowler ? Hopeful of signing a one-year loan deal from Coventry City.

Iffy Onoura ? Former Town favourite was linked to the club in player/coach role. However rumours have died down recently.
