Town v Orient - Match Preview
Huddersfield Town story posted by Garfield (Admin) on 26/09/2003
After Tuesday night's 4-2 win over Sunderland at the Stadium of Light, Huddersfield Town will be looking to continue their winning ways against struggling Leyton Orient. Tomorrow's game should be one of the easier games Town play this season seeing as though Orient haven't won in the Third Division for over a month.
To make things even easier for Town, Orient have Matt Lockwood and Alan McCormack suspended for the game. Plus, Dave McGhee, Mark Peters, Tom Newey, Simon Downer and Marcus Ebdon all look doubtful for the game after picking up injuries. Things aren't looking too good for them.
Town also have some player problems. Captain Rob Edwards and Ian Hughes look likely to miss the game through injury. Eje Sodje will miss the game through suspension. However, Nathan Clarke and Chris Holland played for the reserves mid-week and could possibly feature in the squad.
Jackson is going to play the same 3-5-2 formation which was used against the Black Cats on Tuesday. With defensive injuries and suspensions he doesn't really have any other choice.
Down the years Town have played Leyton Orient 54 times, winning 18, losing 16 and drawing 14. In the last ten years, however, Town have beat them 3 times and only lost once. The last time Orient were at the McAlpine, Town won 2-0 through goals from Iain Dunn and Ronnie Jepson.
Garfield's Prediction: With Orient's injury and suspension problems, I'm going to go for a 3-1 victory.
