Blades Recall loan-man Beckett

Huddersfield Town story posted by Garfield (Admin) on 24/02/2005
Sheffield United have recalled Luke Beckett from his loan spell at Huddersfield Town. The prolific striker is needed by Blades manager Neil Warnock for their upcoming game against Rotherham, so was left with no other choice.Blades Recall loan-man Beckett

Luke instantly became a fans' favourite at the Galpharm Stadium netting 6 in 7 games for the terriers and he will, no doubt, go down as Town's best ever loan signing. The news of his recall is a major blow to Town's strikeforce ahead of Saturday's game against Oldham Athletic. Peter Jackson will probably go with a Abbott-McAliskey partnership now.

Jacko spoke of his disappointment at the news earlier. He said: "It's incredibly disappointing, but we knew there was a possibility of this happening. Our best wishes go with Luke because he could not have done anymore for me or the team since he has been here. I know he enjoyed his time here and he will go back to Bramall Lane full of confidence having netted a hatful."

Thanks for helping us Luke! You're already a legend!
