Huddersfield Town v Wycombe Wanderers

Huddersfield Town story posted by Garfield (Admin) on 02/09/2001
Town are on a roll at the moment following the back to back wins at Bury and Peterborough but will the roll continue with Armstrong not playing and with Jenkins doubtful?Huddersfield Town v Wycombe Wanderers

A few of the younger Town players may get a chance in the first team because of the amount of injuries at the club. Baldry is expected to be on the subs bench, Schofield will probably continue his role in the starting line-up as will Thorrington. Mattis is expected to join Baldry on the bench.

The line-up will probably be similar to that of the Peterborough game. I wonder if Holland will be left out again?

Lawrie Sanchez says he will be taking in two games in order to continue his search for a new striker. Sanchez has ruled out giving Finnish striker Justus Vajanne another chance after the 6'2" player failed to impress in Wednesday's reserve game with Barnet. Reports in the Bucks Free Press indicate that Sanchez will watch two games on Saturday outside of Division Two while the Wycombe boss has ruled out talk of bringing in either of Cardiff's fowards, Kevin Nugent or Leo Fortune West. Sanchez says age and their expectant wages would be the stumbling block but he confirmed there is still a six-figure bid for a striker 'on the table' for another unnamed centre-forward but talk of signing Wrexham's Chris Faulconbridge has been rubbished by the Welsh club. In the meantime Sanchez is sure to add Gavin Holligan to the squad travelling to Huddersfield after an impressive display for the reserves during the week. Ben Townsend could also travel as cover in defence after Chris Marsh limped off with a leg strain. Dave Carroll is also likely to miss out with a back problem, while Martyn Lee will probably be given more time to regain full match fitness despite a midweek appearance for the reserves.

Garfield's Prediction
Although Wycombe aren't a bad side i will still have to go for a 2-0 win to Town.

Probable lineups:
Town: unknown at present
