The World Cup starring Nigerian, 33, began negotiations with Yeovil yesterday after the Terriers circulated his name at the beginning of the week. He is currently on trial at Huish Park and is now training with the rest of the squad at Yeovil.

Jacko told the official website: "I thought it was only fair to give him the opportunity to get fixed up before the transfer window closes because he was not going to offered a new contract. Yeovil showed an immediate interest and I have let him go down for a trial.

"Everyone knows I pulled him aside before the Chesterfield game and told him he was playing for a contract. He was sent off and I knew then that he would not be offered a new contract."
