Town v Doncaster Rovers
Huddersfield Town story posted by Peter MacGibbon on 07/04/2005Five games to go! We are one point and four places below Rovers in the league. Unfortunately results during the week realistically pushed play-off places beyond the reach of either of us and this game is mainly for pride and to end with as high a league placing as possible. It would be nice to keep our winning run going.
We have won four home games on the trot but the Rovers away form is pretty good, won two and drawn two of their last six! Should make for a good contest. Their draw last Friday against Colchester seems to have been a fair result so Saturday?s result should be a good pointer for next week.
The last time we played Doncaster at the McAlpine was in January last year. We beat them 3-1 and at that time the play-off spot looked a formality.....little did we know that our form was going to drop away in the next couple of months! Our most recent match against them was at Belle View, in August, and we lost, a little unluckily, 2-1 . A year earlier we had drawn with them 1-1 away from home.
No news yet on whether Paul Rachubka will be back for Saturday. Carss and Yates are almost certainly still absent but otherwise we have a full squad.
Tim Ryan is suspended for Rovers.
Information is a bit thin on the ground but I want to get this on the site tonight, Thursday. I will update via the Newsbot thread as I have more.
