Terriers v Swansea
Huddersfield Town story posted by Peter MacGibbon on 12/08/2005
The Swans come to town on Saturday to try and take away our record of being unbeaten at the Galpharm in 2005. They have won both their matches this season but it is early days. In our promotion season they led the division for a long time in the early season but eventually fell away. We last played them in March 2004, at the Galpharm, and won comfortably 3-0, a brace of goals from Schofield and one from Lloyd.
We will be without Dave Mirfin who is likely to be out for a month or so. Andy Holdsworth is expected to take his place on the right in defence. It is unlikely that there will be any radical changes in our squad or tactics. The new players seem to be fitting in well and Jacko will be expecting continued improvement and another ?clean sheeet?
Swansea are still without Garry Monk with a leg injury and Andy Robinson who is suspended. It seems likely they will start with the side that beat Colchester, 2-1 at Colchester, on Tuesday. Adebayo Akinfenwa, who joined them from Torquay, scored on his debut against Tranmere. Lee Trundle, whom we know all about, scored at Colchester. Izzie Iriekpen also had an outstanding game on Tuesday and will have to be watched. Our defence will need to be on their mettle.
It should be a good, hard, game but, with luck, concentration, and effort right up to the final whistle, we can win it.
