Town v Tranmere Rovers
Huddersfield Town story posted by Peter MacGibbon on 26/09/2005
Rovers our Tuesday opponents two weeks running! Although Tranmere are in our own league, and have made a slow start to the season, they will give us a hard battle. Currently they are 13th in League One, seven points adrift of us.
When they were here, last October, we had the best of the first half but after Nathan Clarke was sent off, at the start of the second half, the Rovers got on top and beat us 3-1. We fared no better in the return match at Prenton Park losing 3-0. They also did the double over us in the relegation season, 2-1 on both occasions. The omens are not good!
We didn?t pick up any new injuries at Layer Road on Saturday so the same squad will be available as for the last couple of games. Tosh and Mirf will still be missing..
Zola and Sharps were the only absentees for Tranmere when, like us, they drew on Saturday. Their squad for Tuesday night will contain our old protagonist Alex Bruce as well as Delroy Facey. Chris Greenacre is their top scorer with 7 goals this season. Delroy has notched a couple since joining Tranmere.
Like Jacko, Brian Little is complaining about the lack of clean sheets by the Rovers. he believes they are due a win.
A difficult one to call.
