Northampton Town v Huddersfield Town
Huddersfield Town story posted by Garfield (Admin) on 23/10/2001
After losing to Tranmere Rovers at the weekend, Lou's men should be looking to raise their spirits and get at least a point out of this match against Northampton. Out of the last eight games Town have managed to pick up seven points with Northampton picking up two more than us with nine points. Both teams are not doing particularly well in division two, Town are 12th with 20 points and Northampton are 21st with thirteen points although they have won their last two matches in a row.
The injury problems persist down at the mac although Dyson was present on the bench against Tranmere. Kenny Irons is still injured but...
The line-up to face the cobblers should be the same as on Saturday or very similar. Let's hope the two Town strikers Booth and Schofield can finally find their shooting touch and score a few against a fairly mediocre Northampton side. If this losing streak carries on any longer there will be no doubt that Town fans will be shouting "Macari Out!".
Come on you terriers!!
Northampton are in the same kind of situation as us but probably even worse in fact. They have recently put the club up for sale to any interested parties. Another problem is seen in their manager Keavan Broadhurst who will be leaving the club in a months time.
Even though the cobblers are going through a lot of difficulties at the moment hey have still managed to pick up a bit of form in the last two matches. They beat Tranmere Rovers 4-1 a week ago and beat QPR 1-0 on Saturday.
They have brought in two new faces this season. Daryl Burgess from West Brom and Chris Marsh from Wycombe. They got rid of three players on frees. They have currently two players on loan from Chelsea - Parkin and Wolleaston.
Northampton could pose a real threat if Town don't improve their game. Let's hope we can pull this one off and get a good run of form going.
Garfield's Prediction
I'll go for a 2-1 win with Andy Booth being the MoM.
Probable lineups:
Town: Martyn Margetson, Steve Jenkins, Thomas Heary, Nathan Clarke, Kevin Gray , Adie Moses, Dwayne Mattis, Danny Schofield, Chris Holland, Andy Booth, John Thorrington.
Northamton Town: Keith Welch, Chris Marsh, Daryl Burgess, Richard Hope, John Frain, Paul McGregor, James Hunt, Chris Hargreaves, Chris Carruthers, Marco Gabbiadini, Sam Parkin
