Town v Bradford City
Huddersfield Town story posted by Peter MacGibbon on 18/11/2005
We surprised the Bantams by beating them at home not that long ago in front of the whole nation. Let?s hope we can go on and do the double.
Unfortunately there will be two changes of personnel for this game; Mark Hudson is supsended, and remember he scored our first goal, and their talisman, Dean Windass, is back for Bradford. To counter this that thorn in our side from last time, Bobby Petta, has a throat infection and will probably miss the game and Ben Muirhead is suspended.
Tosh and Adnam Ahmed are now working on getting back to full fitness but won?t be available for a game or two yet. Chris Brandon will probably start in place of Hudson.
The onus is very much going to be on our defence to keep Windass and Claridge boxed up. Despite their ages both are still pretty sharp strikers and will keep us under pressure. We don?t want any misunderstandings at the back this week.
Our record over the years is ?Even Stevens?, 13 wins, 13 losses and 13 draws. Obviously our form this season is better than theirs, we are second in the league with 34 points and they trail in 8th, ten points behind us. Our recent form is also better. We have garnered 15 points in the last eight games, they have only managed 12. The bookies have us at varying shades of odds-on.
Never let us forget, however, that this is a Local Derby with all that that entails. I hope we win but I don?t expect it to be easy.
Don?t forget that this is a 12 noon kick off. The gate is expected to exceed 17,000.
News just in is that our match against Swansea, at Liberty Stadium is now going to be on Friday 25th February with a 7.45 ko, live on Sky.
