Worcester City v Huddersfield Town
(Also MK Dons v Terriers)
Off we go on Sunday, to St George?s Lane, to meet Worcester City in the second round of the FA Cup. The game kicks off at 1.05pm but is live on BBC1.
Worcester play at the same level as Welling but whereas Welling are bucking for promotion to the Conference, from the Conference South division, Worcester are sitting just above the relegation zone in Conference North. Gazza?s Kettering Town are in the same division as are Mags? hometown side, Harrogate Town.
Worcester reckon they can give us a fright all the same. For one reason look at who they dumped out of the cup in the qualifying round, coming from two goals down to win 3-2 .......Accrington Stanley! Aside from that they believe that playing at home will be a big advantage. The ground is small, holding about 4500, and the crowd are only feet from the playing area. I imagine that the pitch itself will be smaller than the Galpharm's 115 x 76 yards but I can?t confirm this. I telephoned them and they didn?t know! All they could say was that it was bigger than the legal minimum, but not that big.
Their player manager is Andy Preece who has had ample experience with League Clubs. The assistant Manager is Andy ?Jock? Morrison who has appeared in a Town shirt in the past.
Ex Notts County striker Adam Webster is the dangerman up front and keeper Danny McDonnell is a non-league International.
It looks as if we will have a full squad, excluding our long term injured, available for this match although Pav is not going back into training until Friday. Incidentally John MacAliskey is also about to start training again. Andy Holdsworth had several stitches in his shin after the incident with Jack Lester, an injury which queries the justification for Lester?s sending off. He should be available for Sunday all the same.
Worcester would probably like a draw to give them a moneyspinner at the Galpharm but surely we will have learned from past experience and can get a win?

Hot on the heels of our FA Cup Tie we head to the National Hockey Stadium on Tuesday evening. Not the 55,000 seater in Lahore but the more modest Milton Keynes version, 9000 capacity, temporary home of the Dons. They are playing Southend, at Roots Hall, in the Cup on Saturday.
The Dons lost to Bournemouth last Saturday and sit 19th in the table with 21 points. They have drawn six of the ten games they have played at home this season. They are on the ?Up? however; over the last eight games, before the defeat at Dean Court, they had picked up 15 points, the same as us. It seems likely that Dons? skipper, Ben Chorley, will be back to face us. We will need to watch Izale Mcleod, (posibly in more than senses than one with January on the horizon), he has been knocking them in recently.
