Port Vale v Huddersfield Town

Huddersfield Town story posted by Garfield (Admin) on 24/11/2001
After an unfortunate 95th minute equaliser by Brentford midweek, which robbed Huddersfield of the three points, they should still hold their heads high as the football they played was some of the best all season. There were some great individual performances coming from Leon Knight and Steve Jenkins but a bit of a disappointing performance by Dwayne Mattis, but hopefully he will have sorted himself out for the game against ex Town manager, Brian Horton?s team. Brian Horton left the club in relegation turmoil and although he hasn?t had the best resources to work with at Port Vale many fans still believe he should have done better. With Boothy not being at his best in the latest games, he will have to be of more use to the team if we are seriously wanting to push for promotion, and with no disrespect to Port Vale its teams like this we should be comfortably beating.Port Vale v Huddersfield Town

So come on lads!!

Currently sitting 17th in the league it hasn?t been the best start to the season for Horton?s men, but saying that Town have only managed two more wins than Port Vale. Many people would say looking at the positions in the league Town should get a win down at Vale Park, but it could turn out to be a closer match than people first thought, with Vale picking up 13 points in their last six games and Town just behind that with 12. With all at stake for Horton to make an impression on the side he bitterly left, Town could be unpleasantly surprised with their opposition. After just keeping a clean sheet against Bournemouth midweek this will have boosted Vale?s confidence and they?ll feel upbeat about Saturdays game.

Prediction: I think it will be a 2-0 victory to the terriers with Leon Knight gaining MOM.

Probable line-ups:

Port Vale: Mark Goodlad, Matthew Carragher, Sagi Burton, Neil Brisco, Michael Cummins, Stephen Brooker, Rae Ingram, Ian Armstrong, Steve Rowland, Chris Killen, Sean McClare

Huddersfield Town: Martyn Margetson, Steve Jenkins, Kevin Gray, Nathan Clarke, Thomas Heary, Danny Schofield, Kenny Irons, Dwayne Mattis, Chris Holland, Leon Knight, Andy Booth
