Huddersfield Town Vs Barnsley
A forecast of around 18,000 is expected to turn up at the Galpharm Stadium on Saturday in the Yorkshire Derby between Huddersfield Town and Barnsley.
The last game between these two was on New Years Eve when Town held Barnsley to a 2-2 draw at the Oakwell.
Town
Town have welcomed back strikers David Graham and Andy Booth back to training this week. Graham missed the Port Vale match last Saturday due to illness and according to Barnsley, Town were playing ?mind games? by saying Town were doubting that Andy Booth would be fit for Saturday but manager Peter Jackson has said Booth is fully fit after recovering from a virus.
Jackson also went on to say that Graham has been through a rough time this week and has lost 10lbs since he last trained.
Sad news for Town is that experienced defender Martin McIntosh has been ruled out of a month after limping off against the Port Vale last weekend.
The Scottish defender was ruled out for three months earlier in the season but has played in every game but one since mid-December.
Andy Holdsworth has had to sit out of training this week with a virus and Tom Clarke has recovered from an ankle injury.
David Mirfin is likely to partner Nathan Clarke in defence in the absence of McIntosh, Graham is likely to partner Booth up front with Booth scoring 4 goals in his last 2 games. Taylor-Fletcher could be back on the bench after starting against Vale and it will be interesting who plays at right back or if the formation is changed if Holdsworth is ruled out.
Town have not slipped into 3rd place after Brentford beat MK Dons 1-0 on Tuesday night.
Barnsley
Barnsley fans around 3,000 of them could be descending on the Galpharm on Saturday afternoon. Barnsley will be level with Town on points if they win at the Galpharm on Saturday.
No real injury worries for Barnsley except that Bobby Hassell who is back in training after recovering from a chest injury that has kept him out for a month and he could be on the bench if Matt Carbon hasn?t recovering from a groin injury. Dale Tonge will not travel to Huddersfield, Tonge is coming back from a knee operation.
Barnsley drew there last game 0-0 with Bournemouth at home, Andy Ritchie though, has dubbed Town ?League One?s top team? and classes this match as a ?must win? for either side and Chairman Gordon Shepherd has forecasted that Barnsley could be in the black by 2008 as the club revealed accounts ending last May showing a ?1.24m loss.
