Here We Go Again!
Huddersfield Town story posted by Sean Makin on 11/08/2006
Once again we are here, the new football season starts. Two games into the new season and fans all over the country will have counting down to the new season.
Excitement, disappointment, anger, happiness will just a few of the emotions most fans up and down the country will go through every Saturday afternoon, none more so than Huddersfield Town fans (Am I right?).
Whether you?re a team just promoted looking to punch above your weight in a new division, a team that has been relegated and thinking you are a big fish in a small pound or whether you?re a club just happy with mid-table we will b all there watching out respected teams.
After the bitter disappointed of a poor World Cup performance by our national side, many fans will be looking to this season to make up for that disappointment.
England struggled through the group stage and then only just managed to squeeze past Ecuador in the second phase.
As soon at the team was announced with a surprising call up for Theo Walcott, who never kicked a ball in anger during the World Cup, got many fans questioning the manager and how the team was going to the perform.
1st of July this year saw England probably I would say their best performance arguably with ten men when Wayne Rooney was sent off and 0-0 through 90 minutes and then through extra time brought another dreaded penalty shoot-out in which we all know what happens.
Whether Christiano Ronaldo gets the same stick as David Beckham got when he was sent off back in the 1998 World Cup in which Beckham was made public enemy number one, we will only see when Ronaldo steps out for Manchester United next weekend when the Premiership kicks off.
A new era for England as Steve McClaren our new manager hoping to do what Alf Ramsey did in 1966. John Terry is now the England captain and Beckham is out of McClaren?s first game in charge next Wednesday against Greece.
As a Huddersfield Town fan I?ll be looking forward to putting the disappointment of last season in the play-offs and the World Cup to see Town bounce back and win this division or get promoted at least.
Please look out for my match reports and other articles.
Best Wishes.
