Leyton Orient 1 v 0 Huddersfield Town
Huddersfield Town story posted by Garfield (Admin) on 10/12/2006
Town slumped to yet another embarrassing defeat yesterday, this time against bottom of the table Leyton Orient who had not won in the league since mid October. The game finished at 1-0 to the O?s.
Town started the game with the same 4-1-4-1 formation that got a draw against Millwall on Tuesday night but things didn?t go quite as well at the Matchroom Stadium. Orient went ahead half way through the first half when Gary Alexander scored a wonderful headed goal, and then there was no looking back for them as Martin McIntosh was dismissed in the 59th minute.
After the game, Peter Jackson expressed his disappointment at not taking anything from the game and even admitted that he thought Town would beat Leyton Orient. He said: "I was disappointed with this result as I came here expecting us to win the game. McIntosh getting sent off made it hard for the rest of the players.
"Yet we had chances, hit the bar and had one cleared off the line. Unfortunately, we are in a period when things are not going for us,? said Jackson.
"I though Orient were the better side in the first half and that in the second half we were the better side, even though we were down to 10 men for the most of it."
One thing's for sure, the Town fans are starting to get a little frustrated with Peter Jackson and Ken Davy, and if things don't pick up in the very near future, then it could get nasty.
