Huddersfield Town 1 v 1 Northampton Town
Huddersfield Town story posted by Garfield (Admin) on 16/12/2006
Town earned a valuable point at the Galpharm Stadium today against fellow League One strugglers, Northampton Town, in a game that saw the Terriers fall behind but then level the game through Danny Schofield on his return to the starting line-up. This game was labeled as a "must win" game, though, so is a draw good enough? Maybe not.
Joe Burnell got the goal for the Cobblers in the 19th minute. However, Town nearly got back in to the game near the end of the first half when Andy Booth saw his header cleared off the line by Burnell.
Town went in at half-time trailing the visitors by one goal to nil.
Huddersfield grabbed a deserved equaliser after sustained pressure midway through the second half when Danny Schofield latched onto a cross from Gary Taylor-Fletcher to score from the edge of the box.
The game ended at 1-1.
Town will probably look at this game as a point gained rather than be upset about not getting the full three points.
