Today Pawel Abbott signed for League One rivals Swansea City in a ?150,000 switch.Abbott Signs For Swansea City
The Swans had just sold Rory Fallon to Plymouth for ?300,000 during the week and made an enquiry for the former Polish U21 international on Friday night.

Abbott held talks with the South Wales club on Sunday and the deal went through today.

Pawel Abbott signed for Town in January 2004 for ?125,000 from Preston North End.
Orignally signed on loan Pav scored on his debut in a 1-1 with Bristol Rovers.
The same season he scored a controversial goal against Lincoln City. His 5 goals in 15 apprences helped Town gain promotion via the play-offs in 2004.

No doubt Pav's best season was 2004/2005 when he smashed in 27 goals for the Terriers. He scored a hat trick against Port Vale at Vale Park in a 3-0 win in September 2004, he became a crowd favourite and was linked with Premiership clubs.

At the start of the 2005/2006 season Pav started where he had left off the previous season, scoring in 6 sucsessive games and the sharks were circling with Wigan reporting to make a bid of ?1.5 million of the Town favourite.
But after scoring twice against Walsall in October 2005 the goals dried up. He only scored 3 goals from October to end of the 2005/2006 season, some say that a fall out with manager Peter Jackson was to blame for the strikers lack of goals and confidence.

Pav has scored 5 goals for Town this season, ironically his last 2 goals were against Swansea in a 3-2 thriller at the Galpharm just after Christmas 2006 in which he set up a goal and scored two himself after coming off the bench in which I gave him the man of the match in my match report.

Pav was well liked by the Town fans, scoring 51 goals in 126 apprences for Town and I think will be missed by the Town faithful. I wish Pav all the best in South Wales.
