Facey Injury Blow
Huddersfield Town story posted by Garfield (Admin) on 08/08/2001
Town are going to be without Delroy facey for the start of the new season.
The striker's back injury is still causing him troubles, and Macari does not want to risk him in anyway for another three weeks.
Lou Macari had already resigned himself to being without three strikers - Clyde Wijnhard, Martin Smith and Simon Baldry - for the start of the season.
Now Facey has been ruled out for the best part of a month, after failing to shake off the injury he picked up against Manchester City last week. The 21-year-old striker has been told by a specialist that a three-week rest is now called for, and the youngster could miss at least five games as Town begin their Division Two campaign. A disappointed Macari said: "Delroy being out for three weeks is obviously not the news we were looking for. "With Simon Baldry, Martin Smith, Jon Dyson and Clyde Wijnhard already missing the start of the season, we were hoping for a boost from Delroy. But that wasn't to be." Facey's place up front will now go to Chris Hay who became something of a forgotten man at the McAlpine last season following his ?70,000 deadline day move from Swindon. Hay will almost certainly be partnered by Andy Booth up front for the clash at home against Bournemouth this Saturday.
