Jackson sacked by Huddersfield
Huddersfield Town story posted by Garfield (Admin) on 06/03/2007
Peter Jackson's contract has been terminated by mutual consent after a season of poor results and under-achievement. Academy manager, Gerry Murphy, has been appointed caretaker manager.
A statement for the club said: "The board's clearly stated minimum aim at the start of the season was to achieve a play-off position, but unfortunately due to our form and the inability to attract key players, this objective is now looking remote.
"The board is ambitious for this great club and is committed to taking it forward as dynamically as possible and we have therefore regrettably had to part company with Peter.
"Peter made a major contribution to the club as it emerged from administration and helped us achieve our early successes. We would like to thank Peter most sincerely for his services over the last three and a half years and wish him all the best for the future."
