Hayes Returns To Barnsley
Huddersfield Town story posted by Adam Brown on 23/03/2007
Paul Hayes' time as a town striker is over. Town had hoped to extend the stay of the Barnsley loanee, but he was today recalled to the Oakwell to cover for the suspended Martin Devaney, as Barnsley continue their battle against relegation.
However Hayes would not have featured in the game against Brighton in any case, as he picked up a knock in training yesterday.
"We've been very pleased with him and he returns to Barnsley with our best wishes," said Town caretaker manager Gerry Murphy, "We'd like to have kept him for another month, but he's Barnsley's player and they wanted him back."
The departure of Paul Hayes means it will probably be a Beckett and Booth partnership up front against Brighton, with John McAliskey making the subs bench.
