No deadline-day movement at Galpharm
Huddersfield Town story posted by Adam Brown on 27/03/2008
The deadline for loan signings passed at 5pm today with no players leaving the Galpharm and, more importantly, no players joining.
Andy Ritchie has been stating his intention to bring in a pacy striker on loan for several months. However, despite having a number of possibilities, no deal was struck.
"We've got one or two things on the go...I'm sat here waiting for a call now", Ritchie told the club website this morning.
The failure to bring in a frontman means Beckett, Booth and Akins are currently the only fit strikers at the club as Cadamarteri, Jevons and Broadbent are all sidelined.
Meanwhile, League Two Rochdale and Conference outfit Farsley Celtic both expressed an interest in taking Matthew Young on loan, but their plans were scuppered due to the player having a cracked rib.
It was also thought that Danny Schofield would leave during the loan window, having already announced this is his last season with the Terriers. Both Yeovil and Chesterfield were interested, but this move has also not gone through.
Todays deadline-day disappointment leaves Town with a lack of options up front have weakened the already very slim chances of sneaking into the Play-Offs this season.
