Boss Happy With Attitude

Lou Macari was very happy to have beaten Wycombe Wanderers considering the number of first-team changes and urged his squad to maintain their good attitude. "It was a good win for us especially after going behind," he said. "It was a cracking goal to get us level and it gave us the lift to go on and win the game. We were a bit shaky at times but we were entitled to be. Remember that without Vaesen, Lucketti, Dyson and Vincent, last season?s defence has virtually gone, and Steve Jenkins was injured playing for Wales. "I can?t believe we?ve gone top. It?s all down to attitude and approach. Being top doesn?t bother me. What is important is that the players realise we can pick up points. How you do it doesn?t matter. "It?s been difficult for the young boys to come into a relegated team which has also lost so many experienced players. No manager would have expected them to do so well but they will run out of legs eventually and we need some of our injured players back. "As for our game at Stoke on Saturday, it will be a good guideline for what lies ahead. It?s a difficult place to go and I never thought we?d be going there top of the league."
