Butler Signs Three-Year Deal With Town
Huddersfield Town story posted by Sean Makin on 02/07/2008
Town have made their 3rd summer signing, defender Andy Butler on a free transfer from Scunthorpe.
Butler had been linked with Town the past few week having turned down an offer from Scunthorpe. Reports were coming from Humberside that Butler was on his way to Town.
Butler signed a three-year deal with Town and joins his former team-mate Jim Goodwin at the Galpharm.
I seem to remember Butler as a goal scoring defender, making a total of 175 appearences so far in his career he has scored 16 goals which is not bad for a defender as some don't score that many in their whole career!.
Tall and naturally left footed, Butler has been blighted by injuries in the past 2 years. It damaged a possibly move to a Premiership club so rumours say.
Only 24 years of age he's still got bags of talent. I thought it was a bad move when Town lost Rob Page, Page organised our defence really well and I hope Butler can do the same.
On other news ex-Town defender Frank Sinclair has joined ex-Town manager Peter Jackson at Lincoln City this week. Ex-Town loanee David Graham has also signed up at Sincil Bank on a 6 month deal.
