Town today have signed 6 foot 6ins striker Tom Denton from non-league Wakefield F.C.Town Sign Non-League Striker And Thanks To Mirfin

A lifelong Town fan, Denton signed a 3-year deal today after passing a medical.
It is reported Town beat off competition from Premiership Blackburn Rovers and Championship side Crystal Palace, who are managed by former Town boss Neil Warnock.

Denton has trials at both Blackburn and Palace which lead to Blackburn Rovers manager Paul Ince offering a contract to the 19-year old but as soon as He heard that Town were interested, there was only one team in his mind that he was going to sign for.
It could net non-league Wakefield F.C £100,000 depending on how Denton progresses.
Only a year ago Denton was playing in the Huddersfield District League for Wooldale Wanderers.

Also Terrier-Bytes.com would like to thank David Mirfin for his service to Town.
The defender joined Scunthorpe United this week for £145,000.
Mirfin came through the Town academy and made over 150 appearances scoring 9 goals in the blue and white shirt.
His goal and performance for Town against York City in the 2003/04 season is something that I and some Town fans that were there that night will remember fondly.
