Takeover deal finalised
Huddersfield Town story posted by Garfield (Admin) on 18/09/2001
David Taylor's consortium have agreed a deal to take over the club which, it is thought, will see them take over debts and bank guarantees.
The consortium of eight agreed the deal with current chairman Barry Rubery, but probably no money will change hands, although the new majority shareholders will be taking on an estimated ?10million debt.
Taylor will be the new HTAFC chairman when the deal to take 75% of Rubery's shares goes through.
Taylor said: "We have reached an advanced stage and the deal will go through in the coming weeks, contracts are being drawn up, we have got a deal that is subject to legalities, but I am confident that the takeover will be completed in another two weeks."
