It has been rumoured for a number of weeks that Tranmere Rovers captain Antony Kay would sign for Town and today Kay put pen to paper on a two-year deal with Huddersfield Town.
Town boss Lee Clark beat a number of clubs to sign the 26-year old former Barnsley player.
Town pipped newly-promoted Peterborough United for Kay's signature.
Kay was a centre-back for Barnsley making 168 appearances including the 2006 play-off semi-final victory over Town and beating Swansea City in the final.
It was rumoured that the then Town manager Andy Ritchie was looking to sign Kay who was released from Barnsley back in 2007.
At Tranmere Rovers, boss Ronnie Moore turned Kay into a midfielder where in 96 appearances he notched 19 goals. 2 of them was against Town in a 3-1 win at Prenton Park last season. |
