Former Town captain Andy Holdsworth is set to sign for Town's League One rivals Oldham Athletic.
The 25-year old left Town in June after contract talks with the right-back hit a dead end with Holdsworth deciding to leave the club.
Holdsworth had been strongly linked with Leeds United following his release from Town but went on trial at Millwall. Kenny Jackett, Millwall's manager, offered Holdsworth a deal only for the player to reject the offer in favour of staying up north.
The academy graduate then went on trial at Bradford City and set up two goals in two friendlies for the Chickens. Holdsworth even mentioned of a possibiliy of staying at Bradford in a local newspaper which resulted in Stuart McCall offering the former Town player a contract.
But Oldham's manager Dave Penney beat Bradford to the punch and are now set to sign Holdsworth.
Holdsworth is set to join other former Town players Jon Worthington, Pawel Abbott and Keigan Parker at Boundary Park. |
