Brentford – With thanks to East Ealing Bee of giffinpark.org/forum

How did you fare last season? Could scarcely have gone better. Won the league well in the end despite losing five or six strikers in the run in. We were the best team in League Two by miles

How do you think you'll do this season? We had a lot of players last year who would have been good League One players. Some we have not been able to get on permanent deals but others are still here. We won't worry the bottom end unless we have an injury crisis and if we get on a roll we'll be close to the top again

What's your squad like, new signings, etc? Defensively very sound, albeit with two new goalkeepers. Solid in midfield, exciting on the flanks, threadbare in attack as we speak.

Which player would you happily get rid of? The manager has made Marvin Williams available for transfer and he underperformed last year. We couldn't afford to get rid of many, we don't have many.

Which youngster will make the biggest impression in your team this season?
Depends what you mean by young? Ryan Dickson will make a real impact at left back and Myles Weston could be a real threat in attack. There's no-one coming out of our youth team this year who will feature much although Ryan Blake looks a real prospect at left back.

What's your manager like and will he still be there at the end of the season? Driven, determined and very ruthless - he ditched half a championship winning squad. I suspect other clubs will come looking if we do well but if we do badly he'll get the sack, that's the nature of it.

Are you happy with your Chairman/Backroom staff? Every club would like someone who will throw in billions and ask for nothing back. We have a Brentford fan as an investor who seems to be looking at the bigger picture without gifting silly money. The club is now well run by people who care and a few years of mismanagement is being put right. The manager's back room team is well established and appears to be solid.

Which team do you want to beat the most and why? Huddersfield. If you've ever sat among their fans you'll know why.

Predict your champions and runner up, the four Play-Off teams and the four
to go down

Brighton – With thanks to taybha of BBC 606 messageboard

How did you fare last season? Best moment, worst moment etc.
Last season was a nightmare only saved by the appointment of Russell Slade who instilled a little pride and fight back into the team. Worst moment losing Jimmy Mcnulty in a freakish accident v Crewe which cost the lad a kidney.

How do you think you'll do this season? Hopes, final position?
This season hopes are high of a top ten finish with possible play-offs ,I'll go for 8th and hope for a little more.

What's your squad like, new signings, etc?
Good squad this season 7 new additions after releasing 14 surplus to requirements, though disappointed we let O'Sullivan go.

Which player would you happily get rid of?
Wouldn't get rid of any though Adam el Abd needs to find some form to figure this season.

Which youngster will make the biggest impression in your team this season?
I think Thornhill whom we have loaned will do well in this league.

What's your manager like and will he still be there at the end of the season?

Russell Slade had 13 weeks at the end of last season to revive a dead cert relegation team, he somehow managed this and we stayed up so he is good enough for me.

Are you happy with your Chairman/Backroom staff?
New chairman this season has loaned the club £90 million interest free to build the new stadium so can't be that bad.

Which team do you want to beat the most and why?
I would say Leeds as we so under performed against them last season it was embarrassing

Predict your champions and runner up, the four Play-Off teams and the four
to go down

Bristol Roves – Thanks to Pirate1985 at Bristol Rovers vital football forum

How did you fare last season?
Last season was a mixture of emotions for us. At times, we were good enough to quite literally destroy top teams around us, and other times we were poor enough to lose to some of the clubs struggling near the drop zone. Overall a finish of 11th last season was in my opinion fair as we were far too inconsistent.

How do you think you'll do this season?
This season, with the signings of Dominic Blizzard and Carl Regan, we should see a more consistent Rovers side (Hopefully) with the new additions looking to be quality already in the pre-season, whilst Danny Coles making a return from injury will be a huge boost for us in terms of defensive quality. I therefore expect Rovers to certainly finish in the top half, but hopefully, with a little luck on our side and a decent start to the season, we should see a top 8 finish.

What's your squad like, new signings, etc?
As stated, Blizzard and Regan look to be decent additions to our squad, but the most important thing for us this season is the fact we actually start the season with pretty much a full squad of players to pick from. No injuries to worry about and it looks like we have managed to keep hold of Lambert, so the squad is in a healthy position.

Which player would you happily get rid of?

The players which are currently Transfer listed will do. Though Williams I believe should actually stay as I feel he still has something to offer, but the gaffer knows best!

Which youngster will make the biggest impression in your team this season?
We have a few impressive players in the youth at the moment, but none are really quite ready to come through and play a major part in our league one campaign this season im afraid.

What's your manager like and will he still be there at the end of the season?
I believe Trollope is one of the best young managers out there at the moment and providing no one comes in to steal him away, he will remain with us for as long as it takes to get us out of league one and into the Coca Cola Championship, and beyond!

Are you happy with your Chairman/Backroom staff?
Nick Higgs seems to be a decent bloke and looks to do the right thing for Bristol Rovers. I therefore have no problems with him. He backed up Trollope last season and provided him with the cash to buy 3 decent players including the terrific Kuffour who was bargain of the season in league one in my opinion!

Which team do you want to beat the most and why?
Every single team in league one, because that is the aim of the game!

Predict your champions and runner up, the four Play-Off teams and the four
to go down

Carlisle United – Thanks to Northablue at BBC 606 Carlisle

How did you fare last season? Best moment, worst moment etc.
We were good to start off with then almost made it to League 2. Best moment beating Leeds away or MK Dons at home 2-0 down at half time to come back 3-2. My personal favourite was Leicester away 2-2 Draw in the 94th min and none stop singing from 1200 blues keeping the home crowd quiet.

Worst moment: Hereford at home we were the worst I've ever seen and the realisation that we may go down set in.

How do you think you'll do this season? Hopes, final position?
I think we could suprise a few people we do well against big teams if we can turn our draws in to wins and find a forward who can score we will do very well. I will go for 14th.

What's your squad like, new signings, etc?

Squad is strong in most areas except up front.

Defence is one of the best in the league Ian Harte is a superb signing IMO and will bring calm to the back 4. If Raven(RB) and Livesey can perform to there best we have a winner also the class of Irish international Peter murphy and "Mr 100%" Richard Keogh can only add to the strength

Lenny Pidgeley from what I've seen of him will be a better keeper than we has last year. Young Collin will give him good competition.

Midfield is also very strong. If we can keep Cleavland Taylor who when on form can terrorise any fullback, in the league and deliver a wicked cross we should be fine.

The centre 2 of Thirlwell and new signing Tom Tawio(on loan from chelsea)will ensure that not much will pass them. Also going forward from midfield we have the option of Gavin Rothery(unatached former leeds youth) who in spells has looked ok. Mark Bride-Wilkinson can give you creativity and a bit of flair and Player-coach Graham Kavanagh has the football brain and cannon of a shot. Matty Robson our left winger looks a superb signing he has pace to burn and can cross. Connor Tinion a young YTS lad will also get his chance and has looked good on the left wing in pre-season.

Up front is the only issue we are a bit lightweight with Scott Dobie, Gary Madine and convert winger Joe Anyinsah hopefully we will bring in a striker and score some goals?

Which player would you happily get rid of?
None at the moment the manager has done the right thing and weeded out the poorer players or troublemakers?

Which youngster will make the biggest impression in your team this season?
Gary Madine needs a big season if he is to lead the line but I think Tom Tawio will make the most impression.

What's your manager like and will he still be there at the end of the season?
Greg Abbott had 2 Caretaker stints in charge, now is his big season with his own squad. Him enthusiasm is commended but daft at times a good coach not sure on the management part but so far signs are we are going the right direction.

Are you happy with your Chairman/Backroom staff?
Not a such we all want an Arab buisnessman to take control. We have 4 men who are suseesful local buisness men holding the fort untill someoe comes in to invest.

Which team do you want to beat the most and why?
Norwich away I used to live there for 5 years and the fans used to take the mick at me supporting little old Carlisle, well look at us now same league!

How did you fare last season?
Well can't get much worse than bottom of the league when most pundits were expecting us to be challenging at the top! Best moment was ending our 19 game run without a win with a home victory over Palace. Worst moment....well that would be the rest of the season! Too many "moments" to choose from.

How do you think you'll do this season?
I hope we'll be challenging for a quick return to The Championship, however money matters behind the scenes are still troubling us. A takeover is being discussed, but is dragging its heels!

What's your squad like, new signings, etc?
So far, three free signings - Christian Dailly from Rangers, Frazer Richardson from Leeds and Miguel Llera from MK Dons. We're top heavy with crap strikers, but our midfield is class - Shelvey, Bailey & Racon - so long as we can survive the transfer window!

Which player would you happily get rid of?
Izale McLeod - Pardew wasted £2m on this fella.

Which youngster will make the biggest impression in your team this season?
Probably Chris Solly as he had a good debut in the last game of last season. Can play either full back position.

What's your manager like and will he still be there at the end of the season?
Parkinson has had a tough time having to deal with Pardew's rubbish. As far as I'm concerned he has a clean slate for this season and hopefully he'll win us over. However, I've got a feeling he'll be gone by the end of the season.

Are you happy with your Chairman/Backroom staff?
At this precise moment in time I would have to say "No" re the Chairman. His silence over the takeover is so frustrating, we don't know what is going on. The backroom staff seem to be ok.

Which team do you want to beat the most and why?
Millwall - Local rivalry and as they like to sing "No one likes them"! Scum.

Exeter City – Thanks to Ryan Greenway.

How did you fare last season? Best moment, worst moment etc.
Fared very well, finishing 2nd and had an excellent end to the season. Highlight will have to be the promotion clinching win away to Rotherham, even if we couldn't see the pitch from the stands in the Don Valley Stadium. Lowlight would be losing 1-6 at home to Chesterfield in a bizarre game.

How do you think you'll do this season? Hopes, final position?
Optimistically I think we could push for a playoff spot but poor pre-season has tempered enthusiasm and hope to consolidate in mid-table.

What's your squad like, new signings, etc?
Lost a couple of useful players in Matt Gill and Dean Moxey, but bought in some new faces and some promising youngsters. Have heard good things about new striker Barry Corr if he stays fit and former Arsenal youngster James Dunne looks classy. We will also be continuing our hugely successful policy of bringing our academy players through into the team. Both Dean Moxey and George Friend (now at Wolves) came through our ranks in recent years and we have number of highly promising youngsters breaking into the team including Liam Sercombe (keep an eye on him). Paul Jones our goalie is continuing to excel.

Which player would you happily get rid of?
Not sure we'd happily get rid of anyone. Our squad is formed so that Paul Tisdale can happily change things about and hopefully injuries will have a minimal impact, hence why we haven't had a 20+ goalscorer for a few seasons.

Which youngster will make the biggest impression in your team this season?
Most likely James Dunne or Liam Sercombe.

What's your manager like and will he still be there at the end of the season?
Paul Tisdale has achieved God status amongst most Exeter fans. He's an extremely intelligent manager who likes the game played attractively and his man-management seems top notch. I believe he's only lost successive league games once in his time with us. He has said he wants to take the club as far as possible and the Supporters Trust are working furiously to try and provide the tools he needs to continue to develop the team. We're sure he'll be here at the end of the season, but the off season could be another thing altogether if we have a good season.

Are you happy with your Chairman/Backroom staff?
We are a supporter owned club, I suppose we should be happy with our lot. There are still problems between the Board of Supporters and the fanbase, but in general the club has made giant strides and is continuing to do so. We have exciting developments up ahead. We are probably the most successful implementors of the Director of Football, with Steve Perryman doing great work for the club with the manager, and doing fabulous work to help fundraising for the club.

Which team do you want to beat the most and why?
Not sure, I suppose it would be Yeovil, they are our local rivals in this league and we've never played them before so it would be good to get ahead on the scoresheet. A nice away win at Elland Road on opening day would be a good way to announce our arrival to the League!

Gillingham – thanks to Alan Liptrott of Gilingham.co.uk

How did you fare last season? Best moment, worst moment etc.
Best moment last season was getting to Wembley through the League Two play-offs and defeating Shrewsbury Town 1-0 in the final that gained Gills promotion to League One

The worst moment was earlier in the season where ironically Gills were humbled 7-0 at New Meadow by a rampant Shrewsbury Town outfit. (Yes revenge was sweet)

How do you think you'll do this season? Hopes, final position?
With the finances at Priestfield very tight, League One survival is our first priority and anything more will be a bonus. I'll settle for 20th with a decent Cup run that would certainly help to swell the coffers and maybe bring some quality recruits to bolster the first team squad.

What's your squad like, new signings, etc?
The squad is currently looking a tad threadbare with minimal additions during the close season. Contract extensions have been secured with some of our squad although a proven striker and experienced central defender are still being sought. It looks quite likely our manager Mark Stimson will have to use the loan system once again to bring in reinforcements

Which player would you happily get rid of?
In my opinion forward Mark McCammon has been a big disappointment since his arrival from Doncaster Rovers last season on a three year deal. He only made the starting line-up in 21 League Two matches last season plus 12 substitute appearances scoring 5 goals. Have doubts over whether he can show any significant improvement at a higher level

Which youngsters will make the biggest impression in your team this season?
Both Jack Payne and Luke Rooney look to have the potential to break into the first team this season. There performances and attitude during pre-season games have impressed the manager so much they look certs to be amongst seven named substitutes this season

What's your manager like and will he still be there at the end of the season?
Mark Stimson was barracked by certain sections of the Priestfield crowd during the early part of last season but his popularity increased dramatically after Christmas as results improved and Gills climbed into the play-off zone. Getting us to Wembley and gaining promotion may not have made him universally popular but at least silenced some of the more fickle fans and boo boys around the stadium. Whatever our fate this season it is most unlikely he'll be dismissed although if he does over achieve may be head hunted at a higher level

ub>Are you happy with your Chairman/Backroom staff?
The chairman is now exiled in Dubai and as nothing much moves without his say so it could turn out to be a frustrating time for many of the staff at Gillingham Football Club. The arrival of coach Mark Robson from Charlton Athletic had a major influence in the change of fortunes at Gills last season and supporters will be hoping he has put pen to paper on the new contract he was offered at the end of last season.

Which team do you want to beat the most and why?
Like many Gills fans of long standing it has to be Swindon Town as the team to beat hopefully both at home and away. An explanation as to why would take more than just a few lines but suffice to say it goes back a long way.

How did you fare last season? Best moment, worst moment etc.
OK but it was horrifying to watch for the second season running the strong centre back/ goalkeeping combination that has been the heart of our improvement as a club again resemble Billy Smart's Circus.

How do you think you'll do this season? Hopes, final position?
So difficult to tell - a very large turnover of players. It it difficult to think that the replacements at centre back and striker will improve on the departures but other additions seem positive. I'd take 19th now if offered.

What's your squad like, new signings, etc?
When we lost James Brown last year the only exciting players who could do something a bit different in terms of skill or pace (Porter and Robson) have now both left. If Brown is fit and if Boyd is interested we'll be fine. If Brown is injured and Boyd is on the sauce then we're screwed.

Which player would you happily get rid of?
The manager got rid of him over the summer.

Which youngster will make the biggest impression in your team this season?
Hopefully Matty Tymon will 'train on'. This has to be the year he breaks through or he won't.

What's your manager like and will he still be there at the end of the season?
Competent and unspectacular. He is however honest and he does speak to the fans and that will stand him in good stead.

Are you happy with your Chairman/Backroom staff?
Not just happy, delighted. Pools haven't balanced the books in ten years. We have a massive imbalance between money through the gate and players wages - and IOR just keep footing the bill. They are the difference between us and being Barnet or Halifax Town. Many fans with short memories like a moan but anyone over thirty (in both age and IQ) knows that IOR are the best thing that has happened to the club in the last 20 years.

Which team do you want to beat the most and why?
There are no words for how much I despise Leeds United. Much bigger clubs than them have come down to League One - in some cases REAL European champions - and showed some sense of humility and acceptance. But not Leeds. Before they arrived in League One I had no feelings whatsoever about Leeds and their fans but to know them is to hate them.

Leeds United – thanks to Gromjo of Leeds vital football forum

How did you fare last season? Best moment, worst moment etc.
Last season we lost in the playoffs to Millwall but lets not talk about that! Best moment would probably be the Leicester game where we equalised in the last minute in Simon Grayson's first game in front of 33,500 people. Worst moment was probably when we lost 2-0 to Hereford away as I've never felt such harsh feelings against my club then I did at that time! The losses to Millwall and Histon Town were very close behind though!

How do you think you'll do this season? Hopes, final position?
I would like to think that we have a team to win it although something is bound to go wrong somewhere along the line. I would say we will go up automatically though. This is all if we keep Beckford

What's your squad like, new signings, etc?
Our squad i think is a very strong one, if we keep Beckford. We have a new keeper and 2 new defenders to fix our defence. Our midfield is young-ish, are gaining experience and will probably be joined by some new recruits n the coming weeks. Our striking partnership is the best in the league by far in my opinion!

Which player would you happily get rid of?
There are a few...Lubomir Michalik, David Prutton, Alan Sheehan, Tom Elliot and Tresor Kandol.

Which youngster will make the biggest impression in your team this season?
Aidy White. He's only 17 years old and featured a few times last season at left back. This year though he has been tried out at left mid and has been very impressive and I think he will get a more perminent role next season. He will be one of our players of the season I think.

What's your manager like and will he still be there at the end of the season?
Simon Grayson is a top quality manager! He knows how to get the best out of his players and reads the game very well..He will be here come May I think..

Are you happy with your Chairman/Backroom staff?
Happy with Ken Bates? You must be joking! That saying though I am grateful to him for saving the club but as soon as a credible offer comes in to buy the club I think he should take it!

Which team do you want to beat the most and why?
I suppose probably you guys after you pulling the double on us last year. Some of your fans are starting to think of us as an easy 3 points and I think we need to fix that! Millwall would be a close second though...

Leyton Orient – Many thanks to Matt Arnot of Leyton Orient Vital Football

How did you fare last season?
Apalling start, mediocre middle, excellent end. A disappointing end to Martin Ling's long tenure at the club, but appalling defeats to the likes of Yeovil, Cheltenham and *spits* Southend proved too much for the fans and the Chairman to take. Geriant Williams really galvanised the side after Christmas, and we were the form team in the division from February to April.

How do you think you'll do this season? Hopes, final position?
No reason why we can't finish in the top half this time round, though a small squad may take it's toll over the long haul. We'll suprise a few people early on and then fade away. 11th is about realistic.

What's your squad like, new signings, etc? Still no left back, and lacking real quality in all the wide positions. Spine of the side looks exceptionally strong with Mkandawire, Chorley, Thornton, Smith and McGleish. Jamie Scowcroft is an impressive capture, and Adrian Patulea is either going to be a useless or utterly inspired signing.

Which player would you happily get rid of?
We haven't got enough players to think about getting rid of any! Though to say that JJ Melligan has a lot to prove is something of an understatement.

Which youngster will make the biggest impression in your team this season?
Jason Demetriou is nearly ready for Championship football, and has been a vital part of the side for a couple of years now. Young goalkeeper Jamie Jones won the #1 spot last season, and will only get better.

What's your manager like and will he still be there at the end of the season?
Seems like a great motivator, and soundites in the press are promising. Only signed a 1 year deal, so who knows about the longevity of his stay?

Are you happy with your Chairman/Backroom staff?
Not really. Now owns the ground and has built us a lego stadium surrounded by a housing estate. All the backroom staff work for his Matchroom organisation on the side.

Which team do you want to beat the most and why?
Brentford. Because they're sluts.
