Preston North End defender Neal Trotman is set to join Huddersfield Town on loan for the rest of the season.
The 22-year old has been on loan at League One rivals Southampton this season scoring two goals for the Saints but has since returned to his parent club.
North End manager Darren Ferguson has stated that Town have been in contact with the club in taking the defender on loan.
The defender started his career at Burnley but was released at 18, he soon joined Oldham Athletic making 18 appearances and had a loan spell during his time with the Latics at Halifax Town. Preston signed Trotman in January 2008 for £500,000 but has only made three appearances for them and has had loan spells at Colchester United and Southampton.
Theo Robinson's move to Millwall looks to have stalled as Town won't let the 20-year old striker leave until they have found a replacement.
The striker, who has found the net 8 times this season, has yet to hold talks with the New Den club, with Town looking at York City's Richard Brodie and Southend United striker Lee Barnard have been named as the possible replacement for Robinson |
