The 22-year old has been on loan at League One rivals Southampton this season scoring 2 goals for the Saints.

North End manager Darren Ferguson has confirmed Town have made enquires about the defender as first team opportunites at Deepdale have been limited for the defender. Since signing from Oldham in January 2008 for £500,000 the Manchester-born player has only made 3 appearances for the club.

Theo Robinson's move to Millwall looks to have stalled as Town look to have a replacement in before letting the 20-year old striker have talks with the London club. Millwall manager Kenny Jackett has been reported to have not been impressed with Robinson's agent. Names have been linked to replace Robinson such as York City striker Richard Broadie and Southend United top scorer Lee Barnard
