Wycombe Wanderers 1-2 Huddersfield Town
Huddersfield Town story posted by Garfield (Admin) on 03/04/2010
Huddersfield Town moved back in to the play-off zone after a well-deserved victory over relegation strugglers Wycombe Wanderers at Adams Park this afternoon. Jordan Rhodes and Theo Robinson both scored for the Terriers before Dean Keates pulled one back for the home team.
The game started brightly for Wycombe when John Mousinho went close to scoring in only the 2nd minute of the game. This, however, was as good as it got for the Chairboys as Town took the lead in the 22nd minute when Rhodes' close-range overhead kick hit the back of the net to put the Terriers in front.
Town nearly made it 2-0 10 minutes before half-time when Neal Trotman's header came crashing back off the framework.
Half time score: Wycombe Wanderers 0-1 Huddersfield Town
Town doubled their lead seven minutes after half time when Theo Robinson shot past Wycombe 'keeper, Tom Heaton, after beating three men on a run along the edge of the penalty area.
The Chairboys managed to pull one back in the 73rd minute when substitute Jon-Paul Pittman took on three Town players before setting up Dean Keates for nothing but a consolation goal.
