Elsewhere former Town player and manager Peter Jackson praised both chairman and manager in the Irish Independent. Jackson stated that under the stewardship of chairman Dean Hoyle, Town should reach the Premier League "within five or six years".

Jackson went on to say: "I've been very impressed with the chairman. I've met him several times and some-times wonder if we'd have had someone like him with the same drive and enthusiasm around when I was there, who knows where we would have ended up?"

"He demands high standards from everybody and has big, big plans for the club. He's got the right manager in place. Lee Clark is a terrific young manager and he's got fantastic people around him, a big staff."
