Today Huddersfield Town have signed left sided defender Gary Naysmith on a free transfer after the former Everton defender turned down a contract with Sheffield United.
The 31-year old will join Town on the 1st of July when his contract expires with the Blades.
Naysmith started his career with Hearts in Scotland in 1996 winning the Scottish FA Cup with them before leaving for Everton in 2000 for £1.7 million.
The Scottish left-back, who has been capped 46 times, left Everton for Sheffield United in 2007 for £1 million.
Naysmith's name has been linked with Town for some time and had turned down a deal from Sheffield United to join Town following on from Scott Arfield and Joey Gudjonsson.
Town were recuiting for the left-back position having let Dean Heffernan and Robbie Williams leave the club. Joe Skarz is also on the transfer list.
Elsewhere goalkeeper Simon Eastwood has signed for recently-promoted Oxford United, who are now in League Two, after Town had agreed to cancel his contract by mutual consent.
