Preview - Huddersfield Town Vs Bristol Rovers
Huddersfield Town story posted by Sean Makin on 12/03/2011
Huddersfield Town travel to Bristol Rovers' Memorial Stadium (3pm kick-off) in aim of stretching their unbeaten start to 2011 at the expense of relegation-battling Rovers.
The Pirates sacked manager Dave Penney in midweek after only two months in charge. Rovers midfielder Stuart Campbell has taken a temporary charge and got off to a good start with a win over Tranmere Rovers on Tuesday night.
Town are obviously without winger Anthony Pilkington after breaking his leg against Rochdale in midweek. Gary Naysmith is also still unavailable due to a calf injury and defender Antony Kay will miss up to four weeks with an ankle injury. Lee Peltier is suspended after picking up a red card against Yeovil Town the previous Saturday.
Jordan Rhodes has been given the all clear to face Rovers after coming off limping against Rochdale and has recieved a call up to the Scotland U21 squad to face Belgium. The club's top scorer has also signed a contract extention with the club keeping the former Ipswich Town striker at Town until 2015, which has supposedly put off Championship high-flyers Norwich City from making a bid. Joey Gudjonsson is also fit after missing the last two matches with injury.
It has been reported that Town missed out on Crystal Palace defender Adam Barrett. The former Southend captain instead choose to join Leyton Orient on loan over the Terriers.
Bristol Rovers are missing Bryon Anthony, Danny Coles, Wayne Brown and Ben Swallow due to injury.
JP Kalala is set to return from injury and Jerel Ifil is back from suspension.
Rovers' top scorer Will Hoskins is doubtful due to a hamstring injury.
