Preview - Town vs Notts County
Huddersfield Town story posted by Sean Makin on 26/03/2011
Notts County are the visitors to the Galpharm Stadium for a Sunday afternoon (4pm kick-off) live in front of the Sky cameras. It is the first time in eight years since County visited the Galpharm and on that occasion they lost 3-0 to The Terriers.
Good news for The Terriers is Lee Peltier is back from a four-match ban and looks set to make the starting XI in midfield. New loan signing Sean Morrison, who has signed on loan from Reading until the end of the season, is set to be named on the substitute bench as manager Lee Clark looks to stick with Jamie 'Boom Boom' McCombe and captain Peter Clarke at the heart of the defence. Clarke has been complaining of a back problem in the 1-0 win over Brentford but it looks like the former Southend defender has shook off the injury.
Kevin Kilbane is away on international duty with the Republic of Ireland in their Euro 2012 qualifies but top scorer Jordan Rhodes looks set to start after starting for the Scotland U-21 defeat against Belgium. Gary Naysmith is set to stay at left back but Antony Kay is still out injured but is looking to make a speedy recovery than expected.
Notts County of course were beaten by The Terriers 3-0 on the opening day of the season at Meadow Lane with two goals from Anthony Pilkington and Jordan Rhodes. Since then The Magpies sacked manager Craig Short after only a couple of months and replaced him with former Manchester United midfielder and MK Dons manager Paul Ince.
County have only won one in their last six and have lost their last three on the bounce but The Magpies will be buoyed by midfielder Ricky Ravenhill's return from a hamstring injury. County's top scorer with 11 goals, Craig Westcarr, managed 10 minutes in the defeat to Brighton and looks set to start against Town after recovering from a knee injury. Alan Gow and Fabian Brandy will be fighting out with Westcarr to spearhead the County attack.
