Mansfield Town v Huddersfield Town
Huddersfield Town story posted by Andy Dixon on 18/10/2002
Hoards of loyal Terrier fans will be travelling down to Nottinghamshire this weekend with their collective destination being Field Mill, home of Mansfield Town. The aim of the journey will be (no doubt) to witness Town's fourth victory of a season which looks to have turned the corner (at last).
On the back of a very impressive win over Notts County at the weekend, Town will be confident of a second successive victory which will hopefully set up a good run that will see them climb up the league table. The performance saw Mick Wadsworth's men move out of the relegation zone and up to 19th in the league.
However, Mansfield will not be a push over as they are in a perilous position which requires them to start winning if they are to survive in this division. Promoted from division three last season and currently 23rd in division two, they will be hoping to use home advantage to it's best possible use on Saturday.
Last weekend, Mansfield managed a nil-nil draw at Peterborough, but their last home game saw them hammer Tranmere 6-1, after they had given the visitors a goal head start. The terriers last away game saw them get thumped 4-0 by Oldham so the omens arguably are not in Town's favour.
I have my ticket and will hopefully be present at the game (all being well) so whatever the result you can rely on me to provide an in-depth match report on what is likely to be a commonly known six-pointer.
Andy's Prediction: After reporting on two Town defeats it would be optimistic to predict a win, however I am optimistic and I think a confident Jon Stead could grab his first hat-trick and Town will win 5-0.
