Midfielder Damien Johnson is close to returning to first team action and could be a surprise inclusion to the squad. Alex Smithies is still sidelined but apart from Smithies, Town have no other injury worries.

Fellow midfielder Nathan Luscombe starts his three-match ban tonight after being sent off in the same match.

Defender Evan Horwood was taken off after recieving a knock against Walsall but could feature tonight against Town. Fellow defenders Neil Austin and ex-Town Sam Collins are struggling with knocks. Strikers Colin Larkin and James Brown are hoping to be included in the squad after they have recovered from their respective injuries.

Striker Colin Nish, who joined The Pool in the summer, could miss tonight's match as his wife is expecting their baby. Veteran Ritchie Humphreys and Steve Haslam both could start tonight due to injuries and suspensions.

The Terriers have beaten Hartlepool on their last two visits to the Victoria Ground winning 1-0 in March and won 2-0 the previous season. The last time Hartlepool beat Town at their home ground was in October 2008 when they beat The Terriers 5-3.
