To Buy or Not To Buy?

Town manager Lee Clark has said that there will be no incoming transfers during this January transfer window after just days before saying that there were a couple of targets he had in mind.
So far the rumour mill has been churning and there has been some credibly but also some daft rumours here is the best of what has been said so far but read into them what you will.

Ben Marshall - On loan at Sheffield Wednesday and both Town and The Owls are interested in signing the winger on a permanent basis. Contract talks at his parent club Stoke City have hit a snag and so too could his loan deal at Wednesday as the South Yorkshire side have been hoping to at least keep Marshall to the end of the season at least. His loan deal at Hillsborough expires on January 15th and rumours are Town could make a move.
Rob Hulse - rumoured for a while the striker coming in on loan for rest of the season from QPR
Jon Stead - Another rumour been around a while. Not getting first team football at Bristol City the former Town striker is itching to move to seek first team football. Rumoured to be coming in on loan.
Sean St. Ledger Again another rumour been around for a while. The defender has been told he is not longer wanted at Leicester City.
Damien Stewart Another defender linked with Town but the Bristol City player has joined Notts County on loan for rest of the season.
Michael Jacobs The Northampton midfielder is only 20 and is highly-rated at Sixfields and Town have been rumoured to pay cash plus Joey Gudjonsson going the other way on loan.
Kyle McFadzean - Another youngster highly rated at his respective team Crawley Town. The defender has also been linked with teams in the Championship and with Premier League Bolton.
Jamie Vardy - The former AFC Halifax striker was linked with Town when he was knocking goals in for fun at The Shay but Town decided not to take a pun on the 25-year old. Instead Vardy left for Fleetwood Town and has scored 15 goals so far. Also linked with teams in League One and Championship.

So far Liam Ridehalgh has left to Chesterfield on loan for rest of the season and striker Robbie Simpson is set to complete a permenant move to Oldham Athletic next week.
Jordan Rhodes - obviously - just about linked with every team going at the moment. Newcastle, Celtic, Everton, Bolton the list goes on.
Gary Roberts Rumours are if we did get Ben Marshall then Town could be prepared to let Roberts go. His contract is up at the end of the season and has been linked with Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds United.
Nathan Clarke - set to return to Oldham
Joey Gudjonsson - Linked with a move to Bournemouth and Swindon Town plus could be off on loan to Northampton if the rumours about Jacobs are true.
Danny Cadamarteri Has played the last two matches but his contract is up at the end of the season and Bury and Carlisle United are rumoured to be interested.
