Town Sack Lee Clark
Huddersfield Town story posted by Sean Makin on 15/02/2012
Huddersfield Town have today sacked manager Lee Clark and his coaching staff.
Clark has been with the club since November 2008 and leaves the club in 4th place in League One and 4 points behind 2nd place Sheffield United, who beat the Terriers 1-0 at the Galpharm last night (report to follow soon).
Chairman Dean Hoyle told of the official Huddersfield Town website htafc.com that "concerns have been raised in recent weeks" and with 16 matches to go he feels Clark has taken the club as far as he can.
Rumours are now circulating that Clark is set to be installed at Leeds United and that he is claiming unfair dismissal after supposedly being sacked in a 2 minute phone call with Hoyle.
In his three years in charge Clark took Town to the play-offs twice with one reaching the final where they lost to Peterborough United. Town have played some good footballunder his leadership and signed some excellent players during his time but this season many fans feel that the club hasn't progressed since last season after money had been spent on new players and performances this season have been below par.
Academy manager and former Town legend Mark Lillis has been put in temporary charge.
